Hello! Charchar here!

Answer:

To begin:

Box A = 5x pens

Box B = x pens

After:

A = 5x - 76

B = x + 76

5x - 76 = x + 76

5x - x = 76 + 76

4x = 152

x = 152 / 4

x = 38

So Box A has 5(38) - 76 = 190 - 78 = 114 pens (as does Box B).

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this helps!

Have a nice day!!

Explanation:
we know that box A has 5 times as many pens as box B. if we take away 76 pens from box A, then it will be equal to box B. therefore, we would need to make an equation (where x is box B):

5x - 76 = x

subtract 5x on both sides:

-76 = -4x

divide each side by -4:

x = 19

x would also be box A because box B and box A have the same number of pens

Find the slope of the line that passes through the pair of points.

(1.8, –3.4), (6.8, –8.4)
elixir [45]

Answer:

-1

Step-by-step explanation:

If a straight line passes through the known points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), the its slope is given by m = \frac{y1-y2}{x1-x2}

Now, in our case the straight line passes through the points (1.8, - 3.4) and (6.8, - 8.4).

Therefore, the slope of the required straight line will be m = \frac{-3.4-(-8.4)}{1.8-6.8}= -1 ( Answer )
