No matter what units you are exchanging to and from, the number of unit cubes will remain constant. For example: If I had a cube who's side was 10 km long, the number of unit cubes would be the volume of the cube which in this case is 1000 km³. So there would be 1000 unit cubes. Then, if I changed the side from 10 km to 10 in, and find the volume, it would be 1000 in³, meaning there are 1000 unit cubes! So the answer to your question is: The number of unit cubes remains constant

Identify the x-intercepts of the function below f(x)=x^2+12x+24
damaskus [11]

<u>ANSWER:  </u>

x-intercepts of  \mathrm{x}^{2}+12 \mathrm{x}+24=0 \text { are }(-6+2 \sqrt{3}),(-6-2 \sqrt{3})

<u>SOLUTION:</u>

Given, f(x)=x^{2}+12 x+24 -- eqn 1

x-intercepts of the function are the points where function touches the x-axis, which means they are zeroes of the function.

Now, let us find the zeroes using quadratic formula for f(x) = 0.

X=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2}-4 a c}}{2 a}

Here, for (1) a = 1, b= 12 and c = 24

X=\frac{-(12) \pm \sqrt{(12)^{2}-4 \times 1 \times 24}}{2 \times 1}

\begin{array}{l}{X=\frac{-12 \pm \sqrt{144-96}}{2}} \\\\ {X=\frac{-12 \pm \sqrt{48}}{2}} \\\\ {X=\frac{-12 \pm \sqrt{16 \times 3}}{2}} \\\\ {X=\frac{-12 \pm 4 \sqrt{3}}{2}} \\ {X=\frac{2(-6+2 \sqrt{3})}{2}, \frac{2(-6-2 \sqrt{3})}{2}} \\\\ {X=(-6+2 \sqrt{3}),(-6-2 \sqrt{3})}\end{array}

Hence the x-intercepts of  \mathrm{x}^{2}+12 \mathrm{x}+24=0 \text { are }(-6+2 \sqrt{3}),(-6-2 \sqrt{3})

Item 7 you and a friend are running on treadmills. you run 0.5 mile every 3 minutes, and your friend runs 2 miles every 14 minut
sweet [91]
<span>You run 0.5 miles every 3 minutes => 1 mile every 6 minutes. Your friend runs 2 miles every 14 minutes => 1 mile every 7 minutes. You run a whole number of miles every number of minutes that is a multiple of 6. Your freind runs a whole number of miles every number of minutes that is a multiple of 7 Then the least possible number of miles that you both run to end at the same time is the least common factor of 7 and 6 minutes. This is 7 * 6 = 42 minutes. You will have run 42 min / (6 miles/min) = 7 miles, and your friend will have run 42 min / (7 miles/min) = 6 miles</span>

Do more than 50 percent of the children in a certain group have brown hair?
babymother [125]

Answer:

What we know is that 30% of the group have brown hair and are girls. It means that in the other 70% we have the boys with brown hair, the other boys and the other girls.

In the case all the girls have brown hair, the 70% remaining would be boys. So 70% of then would have brown hair. (0.7*0.7=0.49 -> 49% of the children would be brown hair) so 49% (boys) and 30% (girls) are more than 50%..

Now, let's suppouse that 90% of the group are girls. It means 10% are boys and 70% of that 10% (=7%) are the boys in the group that have brown hair. Now 7% + 30% of the children have brown hair, wich isn't more than the half.

Joaquin has a grade of 81 and 70 on her first two algebra test if she wants an average of 73 what possible score can she get on
Anvisha [2.4K]
81 + 70 + x = 3(73)
first multiply 3(73)

81 + 70 + x = 219
combine like terms

151 + x = 219
subtract 151 from both sides

x = 68

Joaquin needs to score a 68 on her next test to maintain an average of 73.
