A primary care physician does not every thing about an injury or an illness and a specialst is aware of every kind of illness or injuries.When you have an injury or illness and meet a physican , he or she will first check about the problem you haveby providing you some medicine and take sometime and when he or she gets to know that the illness is out of his hand then only he will send u to a specialst.here a physian is a waste of time and money. So it is better to see a specialist.if i have an accident and break my leg i will see a specialstand if i fell off riding a bicycle and get hurt i will see a physian
