How might using you-messages escalate a problem?
Tomtit [17]
Using you-messages puts the blame on the other person which more than likely will escalate the problem. but if you were to use i-statements such as using "I feel upset because this, this, and this" but don't use the word you in the statement because it wouls still be blaming the other person.

You are assisting a physician while she examines a patient. She has asked you to instruct the patient lying on the examination t
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

We can tell the patient to lay straight with the face directed outward. We will tell the patient to lay the arms at the sides. we will further tell the patient to place his/her palms facing forward. The head and the eyes should also face forward. This position makes it easier for the physician to analyze any body part in a stance. It is easier to understand what part of the body is being talked about in this position.

The nurse is assessing the fundus in a postpartum woman and notes that the uterus is soft and spongy and not firmly contracted.
Fudgin [204]

The primary intervention is to massage the fundus until it is firm and to express clots that may have accumulated in the uterus. Uplifting the client's legs and positioning the client on the side would not assist in managing uterine atony. Assertive on an uncontracted uterus can invert the uterus and cause massive hemorrhage. If the uterus is not constricted firmly.
