Here you can cross multiply to solve for e. You want to multiply the diagonals with each other and set the results equal. So here, you multiply 9.5 with 6.4 and e with 7.6 and get 60.8=7.6e. You then divide out the 7.6 to get e=8.

Which of the following are solutions to the equation below?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

There are several ways in which we could answer this question. My choice is to actually solve the given quadratic equation, x^2 + 4x + 4 = 12.

Note that x^2 + 4x + 4 is a perfect square. Thus,

x^2 + 4x + 4 = 12 is the same as (x+2)^2 = 12, so that

x+2 = plus or minus √3*√4, or plus or minus 2√3.

Thus, the two real, unequal roots are

x = -2 + 2√3 and x = -2 - 2√3. These correspond to answer choices C and E.

Carlos received 84 votes. That was 3 of every 7 votes cast in the class president election. How many votes were cast?
Step2247 [10]
336 votes total.

if he got 84 votes 3/7 so you take 84 times 4 (i got four by subracting 3 from 7 and got the remaining votes) and you will get 336 votes. hope this helps! :)

The graph of the function C(x) = −0.34x2 + 12x + 62 is shown. The function models the production cost, C, in thousands of dollar
Virty [35]

Answer:

0 ≤ x < 1.12 and 34.18 < x ≤ 39.87

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> is the number of tires produced, in thousands

C(x) --->  the production cost, in thousands of dollars

we have

C(x)=-0.34x^{2} +12x+62

This is a vertical parabola open downward (the leading coefficient is negative)

The vertex represent a maximum

The graph in the attached figure

we know that

Looking at the graph

For the interval [0,1.12) -----> 0\leq x

The value of C(x) ----> C(x) < 75

That means ----> The production cost is under $75,000

For the interval (34.18,39.87] -----> 34.18 < x\leq 39.87

The value of C(x) ----> C(x) < 75

That means ----> The production cost is under $75,000

Remember that the variable x (number of tires) cannot be a negative number

therefore

If the company wants to keep its production costs under $75,000 a reasonable domain for the constraint x is

0 ≤ x < 1.12 and 34.18 < x ≤ 39.87
