The temperature of 2.0 g of helium is increased at constant volume by ΔT. What mass of oxygen can have its temperature increased
gavmur [86]

Answer:

m = 9.6 g

Explanation:

Thermal energy given to helium gas at constant volume is given as

Q = nC_v \Delta T

so here we have

C_v = \frac{3}{2}R

n = moles

n = \frac{2}{4} = 0.5

so we have

Q = \frac{3}{2}R(0.5)\Delta T

now we know that

for oxygen gas we have

C_v = \frac{5}{2}R

for same amount of heat we have

Q = nC_v \Delta T'

\frac{3}{2}R(0.5)\Delta T = \frac{m}{32} (\frac{5R}{2}) \Delta T

m = \frac{0.75 \times 32}{2.5}

m = 9.6 g

Dwight uses a spring (k = 70 N/m) on a horizontal surface to make a launcher for model cars. The spring is attached to a holder
kramer

Part A)

As we know that spring force is given by

F = kx

here x = stretch in the spring from natural length

So here  when spring reaches to its natural length

Force due to spring = 0

so acceleration = 0

Part b)

When spring is compressed from its natural length it will have elastic potential energy in it

so it is given by

U = \frac{1}{2}kx^2

now we know that there is no friction in it so maximum kinetic energy of the launcher must be equal to the elastic potential energy of the spring

KE = \frac{1}{2}kx^2

here we have

k = 70 N/m

x = 0.4 m

KE = \frac{1}{2}(70)(0.4)^2

KE = 5.6 J

Part c)

Now to find the speed we know that

KE = \frac{1}{2} mv^2

5.6 = \frac{1}{2}0.3v^2

v = 6.11 m/s

so its speed is 6.11 m/s

A particle with charge 8 µC is located on the x-axis at the point −10 cm , and a second particle with charge 3 µC is placed on t
bixtya [17]

Answer:Force on -7 uC charge due to charge placed at x = - 10cm

now we will have

similarly force due to -5 uC charge placed at x = 6 cm

now we will have

towards left

Now net force on 7 uC charge is given as

Be sure to answer all parts. Assume the diameter of a neutral helium atom is 1.40 × 102 pm. Suppose that we could line up helium
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

The number of atoms are 1.86\times10^{8}.

Explanation:

Given that,

Diameter D = 1.40\times10^{2}\ pm

D=1.40\times10^{2}\times10^{-12}\ m

Distance = 2.60 cm

We calculate the number of atoms

Using formula of numbers of atoms

Number\ of\ atoms =\dfrac{2.60\times10^{-2}}{1.40\times10^{2}\times10^{-12}}

Number\of\atoms =1.86\times10^{8}

Hence, The number of atoms are 1.86\times10^{8}.
