Distance1 * (Ivan's velocity - current velocity) = Distance2 * (Ivan's velocity + current velocity)

16 * (Ivan's velocity - 1) = 8 * (Ivan's velocity + 1)

(16 * Ivan's velocity) - 16 = (8 * Ivan's velocity) +8

8 * Ivan's velocity = 24

Ivan's velocity = 3 kilometers per hour

Let f(x) = x - 2 and g(x) = x2 - 7x - 9. Find f(g(-1))
Montano1993 [528]
f(x)=x-2 \\
g(x)=x^2-7x-9 \\ \\
g(-1)=(-1)^2-7 \times (-1)-9 = 1+7-9=-1 \\
f(g(-1))=f(-1)=-1-2=-3 \\ \\
\boxed{f(g(-1))=-3}
