Writing an Argumentative Essay about a Tradition<br>I will mark brainliest
nadezda [96]

The great thing about our society is that everyone thinks about culture differently, thereis a place for all types of media, interests, and cultures. Things that are popular to me might notbe popular to someone else. Culture values and ideals are spread throughout mass media tolarge populations through songs, television shows, newspapers, the internet, and other mediaoutlets. I would argue that the media products presented at the bottom half of the Skyscrapermodel give our society cultural value. To me the products at the top of the skyscraper givemore of a cultural value than the products at the bottom, but the products at the bottom arestill an important part of our culture. Just because they are…show more content…

Just asover time media has shifted from an oral and written era, to the print revolution, electronic era,and the digital era. People especially my age, aren’t necessarily interested in going to things likethe ballet or reading hamlet. I don’t think that if you enjoy the things at the bottom of theSkyscraper that that means you don’t have “good taste”, or that you are not wealthy, oreducated. The things that are considered “high culture” are not things that only people of a richbackground can enjoy. In some cases, people may not be able to afford things like the ballet, but are still enjoy things that are considered “high” culture.Even today some of the high culture portions of the skyscraper are not acknowledged bypeople as much as they used to be. A good way to look at the culture of our society is throughpopular culture. The popular culture of our society offers insight into people lives such as,…show more content…

As we look backon past cultures it reveals so much about the world, and the same will happen when we lookback on our culture today. We will be able to see how important certain things are to oursociety, and how it reflects who we are.In our fast-paced society, the news is constantly changing, and what is news today, could be irrelevant tomorrow. Popular culture includes the most current and ongoing aspects ofour lives. However, with the union of media into the technical world, people are brought closerand closer to the ever-present media. We are able to get the latest news at our finger tips. Thestories that were important years ago, don’t have the same level of importance today. However, I don’t think this means that we don’t appreciate culture. Not only does popularculture teach us about ourselves it also helps us learn about society. We are able to see howpopular culture reveals information about our culture, and what society believes is important. Itgives us truths about our own culture, time, era, and society and it can even offer reassuranceon life’s challenges, and help us figure out who we are. Like I mentioned before, the cultures ofthe past have helped shape our society and tells us about what it is like to live in this world, thesame as the popular culture of today also helps shapes us. Popular culture reveals our beliefs, values, and decisions. It can also have an impact on younger people.
