The correct answer should be C. has happened to over 99% of species that ever lived on earth. As a matter of fact, historically there have been over five billion species since they first started appearing millions of years ago, but 99% of them are now extinct, mostly due to things like the Great Extinction in the paleozoic era. Human caused extinction is nowhere near the numbers that the nature has reached.

What are the limitations of using bmi as a measure of weight and overall health? how might muscle tone affect bmi?
konstantin123 [22]
BMI measures excess weight rather than excess body fat, therefore it doesn't take in to account the amount of muscle you have. This would mean that if you used BMI to judge your overall health, it would be false if you were very muscular. BMI may determine that you are overweight, but it is not necessarily correct as BMI is judging based off of excess fat rather than muscle.

A bacterial cell that is resistant to a particular antibiotic may spend a large amount of energy, producing the modified protein
NemiM [27]

Answer:

Its fitness would lower.

Explanation:

 • An organism has an optimal fitness when the organisms spend their energy in performing tasks that are most appropriate to survive in the given environment.
 • Organisms that possess the traits that are best suited to survive in a given condition is termed to be the fittest in that particular environment.
 • In the given situation the fitness of the bacteria would be lower than other strains that lack resistance because it is spending energy that the resistant strains can use for other purposes, such as reproduction this is because even though the bacteria are resistant to a particular antibiotic there is no point of producing those resistant proteins if the antibiotic is absent in the surroundings and hence, this is not the best trait it be possessed.

Setler79 [48]

Answer:

Explanation:
