One version or form of a trait is called an allele

An allele is an alternative form of a gene that is situated at a given locus (position) on a specific chromosome. Alleles determine recognizable traits that can be transmitted from parents to offspring through sexual reproduction. In multi-cellular organisms that possesses two copies of each chromosome (diploid organism), two alleles forms the individual's genotype. When allele pairs are identical, they are said to be homozygous, while when they are different, they are heterozygous.

Between a Black father bear (genotype BB) and a Brown mother bear (genotype bb), they had several baby bears.Black fur allele (B
Karolina [17]

Answer:

100% or 1

Explanation:

This question involves a gene coding for fur color in bears. According to the question, black fur allele (B) is dominant over the brown fur allele (b). This means that a bear heterozygous for fur color (Bb) will be phenotypically black.

In this question, a black father bear (genotype BB) and a brown mother bear (genotype bb) were crossed, the baby bears will all have a genotype Bb (see punnet square in the attached image). Since all the offsprings of this cross have genotype Bb, this means that 100% will have black fur.

The cytoplasm divides during this segment of mitosis _____.
-BARSIC- [3]

Answer:

The correct option is D) cytokinesis

Explanation:

Mitosis can be described as a process in a cell replicates to form two identical copies of itself.

Cytokinesis can be described as the last stage of cell division for both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. During this stage, the cytoplasm eventually divides and the cell splits into two with equal portions of cytoplasm in each side. Although the mechanism of cytokinesis is different for both plants and animals yet it is the final stage for both the cell type in which the cytoplasm splits.
