Hey, so using the formula A squared + B squared = c squared, you should be able to work these out.

For example the second one would be 3 squared + 4 squared = c squared. So 9+16=25, and then we would root 25 which gives you 5!

Hope this helps!

Answer:

1): 15, 2): 5

Step-by-step explanation:

I used the Pythagorean Theorem which is a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2}.

For 1), the equation is (12*12) + (9*9) = c*c OR 144 + 81 = c*c. I got 225 = c*c. Then I used a calculator to figure out the square root of 225 and I got 15.

For 2), the equation is (4*4) + (3*3) = c*c OR 16 + 9 = c*c. I got 25 = c*c. Then I used the calculator to figure out the square root of 25 and got 5.

What are the steps to solving this? 70-8x=56+x
guapka [62]

Answer:

x = 14/9

Step-by-step explanation:

70 - 8x = 56 + x

- 8x - x = 56 - 70

- 9x = - 14

- x = - 14/9

x = 14/9

The radius of a circle is 8 feet. What is the area of sector bounded by a 90° arc?
Lera25 [3.4K]

Since 90 degree is 1/4 of a circle, the area will be 1/4 th area of the full circle.

The radius is given by, r = 8 ft, therefore, the area of the full circle is,

\begin{gathered} A=\pi\times r^2 \\ A=3.14\times8^2=200.96ft^2 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the area of the sector is,

A^{\prime}=\frac{1}{4}\times200.96ft^2=50.24ft^2\begin{gathered} A^{\prime}=\frac{\theta}{360}\times\pi\times r^2 \\ \text{ =}\frac{\text{90}}{360}\times\pi\times8^2 \\ \text{ =}\frac{1}{4}\pi\times64=16\pi \end{gathered}
