Use this data in the problem below. Follow the steps carefully. Round to the nearest tenth. Lot 1: Week 1: 600 Week 2: 300 Week

3: 500 Week 4: 900 Step 1. Jim enters the data and calculates the average or mean. Step 2. Jim calculates the deviation from the mean by subtracting the mean from each value. Step 3. Jim squares each deviation to remove negative signs. Step 4. Jim sums the squares of each deviation and divides by the count for the variance. Step 5. Jim takes the square root of the variance to find the standard deviation.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The given data set is:

Week 1: 600

Week 2: 300

Week 3: 500

Week 4: 900

The following are the steps to find the standard deviation:

Step 1. Jim enters the data and calculates the average or mean.

Mean=\frac{600+300+500+900}{4}=\frac{2300}{4}=575

Step 2. Jim calculates the deviation from the mean by subtracting the mean from each value.

Data value (x)                                                             x-{\overline{x}}

600                                                                           25

300                                                                         -275

500                                                                         -75

900                                                                          325

Step 3. Jim squares each deviation to remove negative signs.

Data value (x)                                                           (x-{\overline{x}})^2

600                                                                       625

300                                                                    75625

500                                                                      5625

900                                                                   105625

Step 4. Jim sums the squares of each deviation and divides by the count for the variance.

Variance=\frac{625+75625+5625+105625}{4}=46875

Step 5.Jim takes the square root of the variance to find the standard deviation.

Standard deviation=\sqrt{46875}=216.50

(1) average = (600 + 300 + 500 + 900) / 4 = 2300/4 = 575

(2) 600 - 575 = 175
300 - 575 = -275
500 - 575 = -75
900 - 575 = 325

(3) 175^2 = 30625
      -275^2 = 75625
      -75^2 = 5625
      325^2 = 105625

(4) (30625 + 75625 + 5625 + 105625) / 4 =
       217500 / 4 = 54375

(5) sqrt 54375 = 233.18 rounds to 233.2

Find Horizontal and Vertical asymptotes for y=(x^2 -9)/(4x^2 +1)
Gnom [1K]

Answer: Horizontal asymptote is \dfrac{1}{4} and vertical asymptotes are \pm \dfrac{1}{2i}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

y=\dfrac{x^2-9}{4x^2+1}

We need to find the horizontal and vertical asymptotes.

Since vertical asymptotes will occur where the denominator becomes zero.

So, here denominator is 4x^2+1

Now,

4x^2+1=0\\\\4x^2=-1\\\\x^2=\dfrac{-1}{4}\\\\x=\pm \dfrac{1}{2i}

And the horizontal asympototes will occur when the coefficient of higher degree of numerator is divided by coefficient of higher degree of denominator.

y=\dfrac{1}{4}

Hence, horizontal asymptote is \dfrac{1}{4} and vertical asymptotes are \pm \dfrac{1}{2i}

How to use exponents
Ira Lisetskai [31]

2 = 32

Exponents are like a simplified or easier version of multiplying
2*2*2*2*2

People use exponents in real life. For an example, they use it for finding cubic feet ,square feet, or area of something or an object.

Sorry if I am bad at explaining this or if I confused you
