Hello,

y=x²+2x+7
y=x+7

==>x²+2x+7=x+7
==>x²+x=0
==>x(x+1)=0
==>(x=0 and y=7) or (x=-1 and y=-1+7=6)

Sol={(0,7),(-1,6)}

Answer:

Given the equation:

y =x^2+2x+7 and y=x+7

Equate these two equation we get;

x^2+2x+7 = x+7

Subtract 7 from both sides we get;

x^2+2x= x

Subtract x from both sides we get;

x^2+x= 0

or

x(x+1)=0

⇒x = 0 and x +1=0

⇒x = 0 and x = -1

Now, find the values of y:

For x = 0

y=x+7

y = 0+7 = 7

⇒(0, 7)

For x = -1

y=x+7

y = -1+7 =6

⇒(-1, 6)

Therefore, the solution set for the given equations are: (0, 7) and (-1, 6)

Translate the shape A by the vector ( 1 4 ) .
zhenek [66]

Translating shape A by the vector (^1_4) means translating 1 unit right and 4 unit up to get A'(4, 7), B'(7, 7), C'(7, 5) and D'(4, 5)

What is a transformation?

Transformation is the movement of a point from its initial point to a new location. Types of transformation are reflection, rotation, translation and dilation.

Let us assume that the vertices of shape A is at A(3, 3), B(6, 3), C(6, 1) and D(3, 1)

Translating shape A by the vector (^1_4) means translating 1 unit right and 4 unit up to get A'(4, 7), B'(7, 7), C'(7, 5) and D'(4, 5)

Answer = 15 pi or about 37.12

Explanation: First you find the circumference using the formula c=2(pi)r. Radius = 18
C=2pi(18). Circumference= 36pi

Next find the measure of the arc. Multiply (36pi) by (150*degree of the arc*/360*total degree of a circle*). Plug into calculator.
