<u><em>An isotonic solution would be a balanced solution with water and solute balancing</em></u>

<u><em>Then osmosis of water plus sodium ions should be hypertonic compared to osmosis of pure water only because has a higher concentration of solute as the pure water has more solution.</em></u>
