Her mother died shortly after her birth, and her father's second marriage with the women who has no affection for his husband's children. Adeline struggles to find a place where she belongs. There was a denied love from her parents but what motivates her is that she finds some solace in relationship with her grand father Ye Ye and aunt baba. Her other achievements are a brilliant academic, doctor and a writer.
