The value of x_2 = 1

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that a approximate solution to the equation x^2 +6x - 2=0 can be calculated using the iterative formula shown below

x_{n+1} = \frac{2-(x_n)^3}{6}

Also given that x_1 =2

To find: value of x_2

To find value of x_2 , substitute n = 1 in given iterative formula

x_{1+1} = \frac{2-(x_1)^3}{6}

Solve the above expression by substituting x_1 = 2

x_2 = \frac{2-(2)^3}{6}

x_2 = \frac{2-8}{6}\\\\x_2 = \frac{-6}{6}\\\\x_2 = -1

Thus value of x_2 = 1

A hollow ball is made of rubber that is 1 centimeter thick. The ball has a radius of 5 centimeters at the outside surface.
serious [3.7K]
Given that the ball has a thickness of 1 cm and the radius at the outside is 5 cm, thus the radius from inside is 5 - 1 = 4cm.

The <span>approximate volume of rubber used to make the ball is given by the volume of the ball at the outside surface minus the volume of the ball at the inside surface.

i.e.

\qquad\qquad\displaystyle \huge Answer

Let's check if (3 , 6) is the point of intersection of the given lines ~

\qquad \displaystyle \: y = 4x - 2

and

\qquad \displaystyle \: y =  \frac{1}{2} x  + 5

If the point is the point of intersection of these two lines, then it should satisfy both the equations ~

let's try each of them, using x coordinate of point.

\qquad \displaystyle \: y =  4(3)  - 2

\qquad \displaystyle \: y =  12 - 2

\qquad \displaystyle \: y = 10

So, the point didn't actually satisfy one of the equation. hence we can infer that the given statement is wrong.

How do I find the answer
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

272.97 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

first find the area of the square

14*14

196

then find the area of the semicircle

A=πr^2/2

A=3.14*7^2/2

79.97

add the two areas together

196+79.97

272.97 m^2
