From the question, we know that he has 1000 envelopes to stuff.

Now, he has already stuffed 112 out of the 1000. Number of envelopes left to be stuffed will be 1000 -112 = 888 envelops

We were told that it takes him 1 minute to stuff 12 envelopes.

Let the time it will take him to stuff 888 envelopes be x minutes;

Let’s have a relationship here;

12 envelopes = 1 minute

888 envelopes = x minutes

12 * x = 888 * 1

12x = 888

x = 888/12

x = 74 minutes
