Answer:

The correct answer is exhaustion stage.

Explanation:

The general adaptation syndrome refers to a three-stage procedure, which illustrates the physiological modifications that the body goes through at the time of stress. The three stages of the syndrome are alarm reaction stage, resistance stage and exhaustion stage.

The exhaustion stage is the outcome of chronic or prolonged stress. Fight with stress for a long duration can drain the emotional, physical, and mental resources to the point where the body no longer exhibit strengths to fight against the stress. Some of the signs of exhaustion are anxiety, fatigue, depression, decreased stress tolerance, and burnout.

The physical consequences of this stage also weaken the immune system and put one at the threat of stress-associated illnesses and even death. As when is in the exhaustion stage, the long-duration of stress elevates the threat of stroke, chronic high blood pressure, depression, and heart disease.

Oxytocin and cholecystokinin are transported through the bloodstream and arrive at the uterus at the same time. Why does oxytoci
9966 [12]

Answer:The uterus has receptors for oxytocin, but not for cholecystokinin.

Explanation:

Both of the hormones are released and travel via same pathway towards the  uterus. The uterus responds to oxytocin but does not responds to cholecystokinin because the uterus has no receptor for this hormone.

Cholesystokinin is secreted from gastrointestinal system and is responsible for stimulating the digestion of protein and fat.

Whereas oxytocin plays a major role in the childbirth, sexual reproduction and social bonding.

Why are health authorities concerned when the vaccination rates for an infectious disease fall?
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

When the propagation of an infectious disease gets reduced, people stop getting their children or themselves getting vaccinated for the infectious disease.

But what we forget is somebody out there might be an asymptomatic carrier of the disease and can spread the disease. As a result, if many people are not vaccinated for the particular disease, then there might be an outbreak of the infectious disease again and it can be deadly.

One example of how applied science has had a direct effect on daily life is the presence of vaccines. Vaccines to prevent diseas
Mashutka [201]

Vaccines are a boon in eradicating various lethal diseases and increase the immunity of the people. The development of vaccines started with the understanding the cell itself, various pathways that regulate its fate. The immunology, a branch of biological science, gave the idea of the working of the defense or the immune system of the body, and of the various specia cells that function for it. This led us to the discovery of antibodies and antigens. Vaciines are artificial means of injecting antigens into the body to generate antibodies beforehand, so that the immune system remembers producing it at the time disease causing agent strikes us.

Thus, we can summarise that STEM research or core science research has led to innovations that have shaped our lives and lifestyle to contribute to an overall good social health.

Before replication can take place.(1) A. DNA polymerases must add complementary nucleotides to DNA. B. the two strands of DNA mu
andriy [413]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. the two strands of DNA must separate.

Explanation:

DNA is a double-stranded structure. The two strands are joined together by the formation of hydrogen bonds between complementary nucleotides. So before the replication takes place these two strands must be separated.

The separation of DNA strand is accomplished by the action of a helicase enzyme which breaks the hydrogen bond between complementary nucleotides and separated the two DNA strands.

After separation, the DNA polymerase binds to separated DNA and replicating the DNA. So the right answer is B.
