Answer:

The answer is 646 cm³.

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly you have to seperate the solid into 2 shaoes, hemi-sphere and cube. Then calculate the volumes using the formula.

Given that the diameter of cube is 8cm so the radius is 8÷2 = 4cm :

Sphere,

v =  \frac{2}{3} \times  \pi \times  {r}^{3}

Let r = 4 cm,

v =  \frac{2}{3}  \times\pi \times  {4}^{3}

v = \frac{2}{3}  \times \pi \times 64

v =  \frac{128}{3} \pi \:  \:  {cm}^{3}

Cube,

v = l \times w \times h

Let length be 8cm,

Let width be 8 cm,

Let height be 8 cm,

v = 8 \times 8 \times 8

v = 512 \:  \:  \:  {cm}^{3}

Lastly, you have to add up both volumes together :

v =  \frac{128}{3} \pi + 512

v = 646  \:  {cm}^{3}  \: (near.tenth)

Substitute this equation x+3y=18 & -x-4y=-25
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

 {x,y} = {3/7,-43/7}

Step-by-step explanation:

System of Linear Equations entered :

  [1]    x + 3y = -18

  [2]    -x + 4y = -25

Graphic Representation of the Equations :

   3y + x = -18        4y - x = -25

Solve by Substitution :

// Solve equation [1] for the variable  x

 [1]    x = -3y - 18

// Plug this in for variable  x  in equation [2]

  [2]    -(-3y-18) + 4y = -25

  [2]    7y = -43

// Solve equation [2] for the variable  y

  [2]    7y = - 43

  [2]    y = - 43/7

// By now we know this much :

   x = -3y-18

   y = -43/7

// Use the  y  value to solve for  x

   x = -3(-43/7)-18 = 3/7

Solution :

{x,y} = {3/7,-43/7}

Emily and Holly took a road trip together. Emily drove at an average of 45 miles per hour for the first 3/7 of the total distanc
Elan Coil [88]
Emily drove 3/7 of the total distance and holly drove the rest which explains that holly drove 4/7 of the whole distance.

if 4 parts of the distance equals 24 miles, then 1 part would be 24/4 is 6.
since emily drove 3 parts of the whole distance, it is 6 × 3 = 18 miles.

travelling time of emily = 18/45 = 0.4 hr
travelling time of holly = 24/54 = 0.4 hr
--> total traveling time = 0.8 hr

i hope it is right
