Answer:

The excerpt is from The Death of Ivan IIyich by Leo Tolstoy which was first published in 1886. This was a masterpiece about the thinking of death and dying by Leo Tolstoy.

The plot of the novel grew up with sickness of Ivan llyich. As he fell sick and started to feel pain he tried every kind of remedy but it didn't work. Finally, he went into a situation where he was passing his days to meet the death. At this time he was wondering about the death. He knew that although he hated death, but he could not escape from this.

On the given excerpt, there is a description of the final moments of Ivan llyich. It was said that,"It seemed to him that he and his pain were being thrust into a narrow, deep black sack, but though they were pushed further and further in they could not be pushed to the bottom". On these given lines, the black sack means the death. He was not willing to fall in the black sack which means death but he could not resist this. But at some point he, it would be less painful after falling into the black sack which indicates that the life after death he was thinking.

So, the word black sack means death in the excerpt.

The evidence the author uses to support the false analogy is that college sports are just as important as bookstores.

We can arrive at this answer because:

  • The author uses a false relationship between university games and university bookstores.
  • He uses this to show that students who work in bookstores receive salaries, but university players don't, but they are of equal importance.
  • The evidence that the author shows to confirm this relationship is that college games are as important as bookstores.
  • However, both the relationship and the evidence convey an incorrect idea.

Bookstores are part of the educational system that universities should promote, university games are not. In addition, many college athletes have scholarships, while students working in the campus do so for salaries or lower funding.

Chin-Kee is Jin's cousin from whose side of the family? (p. 225)
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:

C.

Explanation:

Chin-Kee is a fictional character from the graphic novel "American Born Chinese" which was written by Gene Luen Yang. It is unclear whose side of the family Chin-Kee is actually from since it is never explicitely mentioned in the novel but what is clear is that the Monkey King has transformed into Chin-Kee by the end of the novel, while Jin Wang has transformed into the white American teen Danny who hates Chin-Kee.
