The expression or appearance of a particular trait is known as an organism's _____________.
Sphinxa [80]

The expression or appearance of a particular trait is known as an organism's phenotype

The term "phenotype" describes an organism's observable physical characteristics, such as its appearance, growth, and behavior. The genotype, or collection of genes that an organism possesses, as well as environmental impacts on these genes, together determine its phenotype.

Earwax type, height, blood type, eye color, freckles, and hair color are phenotypic examples in humans. A phenotype is more than just a physical characteristic. A phenotype may also include a person's behavior. The dog breed known as the Border Collie, which was developed to herd sheep, serves as an illustration of inherited behavior.
