Answer:

145.8 cm³ of paint

Explanation:

d₁ = Smaller diameter paintball = 5 cm

d₂ = Larger diameter paintball = 9 cm

V₂ = Volume of larger diameter paintball

Volume of smaller diameter paintball

V_1=\frac{4}{3}\pi r_1^3\\\Rightarrow V_1=\frac{4}{3}\pi \left(\frac{d_1}{2}\right)^3\\\Rightarrow V_1=\frac{4}{24}\pi d_1^3

Similarly

V_2=\frac{4}{24}\pi d_2^3

Dividing the above two equations, we get

\frac{V_1}{V_2}=\frac{d_1^3}{d_2^3}\\\Rightarrow V_2=\frac{V_1}{\frac{d_1^3}{d_2^3}}\\\Rightarrow V_2=\frac{28}{\frac{125}{729}}\\\Rightarrow V_2=163.296\ cm^3

∴ The larger one hold 163.296 cm³ of paint

The New York Wheel is the world's largest Ferris wheel. It's 183 meters in diameter and rotates once every 37.3 min.
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

Velocity =0.241 m/s

Acceleration = 7.21e-4 m/s²

Explanation:

The wheel travels through

Θ = (7.40/37.3)*360º = 71.42º

and so the length of the line segment connecting the initial and final position is

L = 2*L*sin(Θ/2) = 2 * (183m/2) * sin(71.42º/2) = 107 m

so the average velocity is

v = L / t = 107m / 7.40*60s = 0.241 m/s

Initially, let's say the velocity is along the +x axis:

Vi = π * 183m / (37.3*60s) i = 0.257 m/s i

Later, it's rotated through 71.42º, so

Vf = 0.257m/s * (cos71.42º i + sin71.42º j) = [0.0819 i + 0.244 j] m/s

ΔV = Vf - Vi = [(0.0819 - 0.257) i + 0.244 j] m/s = [-0.175 i + 0.244 j] m/s

which has magnitude

|ΔV| = √(0.175² + 0.244²) m/s = 0.300 m/s

Then the average acceleration is

a_avg = |ΔV| / t = 0.300m/s / (7.40*60s) = 6.76e-4 m/s²

The instantaneous acceleration is centripetal: a = ω²r

a = (2π rads / (37.3*60s)² * 183m/2 = 7.21e-4 m/s²

Calculate the standard emf of a cell that uses the Mg/Mg2+ and Cu/Cu2+ half-cell reaction at 25°C. E o = V Write the equation fo
Alina [70]

Answer with Explanation:

We have to calculate the standard emf of a cell.

Consider E^0_{Mg/Mg+2}=-2.37 v

E^0_{Cu/Cu+2}=0.34 V

T=25^{\circ}=25+273=298 K

Anode half reaction:Mg(s)\rightarrow Mg+2(aq)^+2e-

Cathode half reaction:Cu+2(aq)+2e-\rightarrow Cu(s)

Overall reaction of cell :

Mg(s)+Cu+2(aq)\rightarrow Mg+2(aq)+Cu(s)

Cathode :The electrode which gains electrons.

Anode: The electrode  which losses electrons.

We know that standard emf of the cell

E^0_{cell}=E_{cathod}-E_{Anode}

E^0_{cell}=0.34+2.37=2.71 V

Hence, the standard emf of  a cell=2.71 V

A power electronics package has been designed to handle 400W of power dissipation. Find out the change in output power handling
shtirl [24]

Answer:

Explanation:

First we must find the real power that is dissipating for each of the two cases, this is achieved by multiplying the nominal power by the efficiency

P=Poη

P=power

Po=nominal power

η=efficiency

POWER NUMBER 1

P1=400*0.89=356W

POWER NUMBER 2

P2=400*0.94=376W

then we find the power change by subtracting both results

ΔP=P2-P1=376-356=20W

always ensure that the efficiency in any system is maximized, because it is always required that the amount of energy delivered by the system is maximum with the same input power.
