Answer:

Perimeter of big rectangle = 38 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the sides of rectangle (1) = a and c cm

Sides of rectangle (2) = b and c cm

Sides of rectangle (3) = b and d cm

Sides of rectangle (4) = a and d cm

Perimeter of (1) = 2(length + width)

2(a + c) = 10

a + c = 5 ---------(1)

Perimeter of (2) = 2(b + c)

2(b + c) = 20

b + c = 10 -------(2)

Perimeter of (3) =2(b + d)

2(b + d) = 28

b + d = 14 --------(3)

Perimeter of (4) = 2(a + d)

2(a + d) = 18

a + d = 9 -------(4)

Since perimeter of the big rectangle = 2(a + b + c + d)

By adding equations (1) + (2) + (3) + (4),

(a + c) + (b + c) + (b + d) + (a + d) = 5 + 10 + 14 + 9

2(a + b + c + d) = 38

Therefore, perimeter of the rectangle ABCD = 38 units

adell [148]

Answer: 20 questions

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, Noah is taking an online survey and after answering 16 questions, he gets a message that he has completed 80% of the survey.

To get the total number of questions in the survey goes thus:

Let the total number of questions be y.

80% of y = 16

80/100 × y = 16

0.8 × y = 16

0.8y = 16

Divide both side by 0.8

y = 16/0.8

y = 20

The survey has 20 questions.

How do I find the vertex and the standard form? Plz explain
xenn [34]

Answer:

Vertex form

y = -4(x + 3)^2 + 10

Standard form;

y = -4x^2-24x - 26

Step-by-step explanation:

Mathematically, we have the vertex form as

y = a(x-h)^2 + k

(h,k) represents the vertex

We have h as -3 and k as 10

y = a(x+3)^2 + 10

To get a, we substitute any of the points

Let us use (-1,-6)

-6 = a(-1+3)^2 + 10

-6-10 = 4a

4a = -16

a = -16/4

a = -4

So we have the equation as;

y = -4(x+3)^2 + 10

For the standard form;

We expand the vertex form;

y = -4(x + 3)(x + 3) + 10

y = -4(x^2 + 6x + 9) + 10

y = -4x^2 - 24x -36 + 10

y = -4x^2 -24x -26
