In my opinion, the correct answer among the choices given is option I. Objects made of silver become tarnished is a chemical property. This type of property becomes evident during or after a chemical reaction. Tarnishing is a result of a chemical reaction.

(I) boiling is a physical property you can boil water and it will not change into another substance.

(II) color is a physical property. It is describing the object. Your shoes are blue, am I adding anything to make it orange? No. It is blue and nothing is changing the color.

(III) objects made of silver is a chemical prop. Like how your bike rusts..your bike rusts because iron is CHANGING into iron oxide. It reacts with the oxygen in the air and rusts.

Physical properties are all descriptions. Water is clear, the boiling point of water is... chemical prop is your bike rusts etc.

A mixture of BaCl2 and NaCl is analyzed by precipitating all the barium as BaSO4. After addition of an excess of Na2SO4 to a 3.9
rjkz [21]

Answer:

The mass % of BaCl2 is 47.24 %

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Molar mass BaSO4 = 233.38 g/mol

Molar mass BaCl2 = 208.23 g/mol

Step 2: The balanced equation

BaCl2(aq) + Na2SO4(aq) → BaSO4(s) + 2NaCl(aq)

Step 3: Calculate moles BaSO4

Moles BaSO4 = mass BaSO4 / molar mass BaSO4

Moles BaSO4 = 2.113 grams / 233.38 g/mol

Moles BaSO4 = 0.00905 moles

Step 4: Calculate moles BaCl2

For 1 mol BaCl2 we need 1 mol Na2SO4 to produce 1 mol BaSO4 and 2 moles NaCl

For 0.00905 moles BaSO4 we need 0.00905 moles BaCl2

Step 5: Calculate mass BaCl2

Mass BaCl2 = moles BaCl2 * molar mass BaCl2

Mass BaCl2 = 0.00905 moles *208.23 g/mol

Mass BaCl2 = 1.884 grams

Step 6: Calculate % BaCl2

% BaCl2 = (1.884 / 3.988 ) * 100%

% BaCl2 = 47.24 %

The mass % of BaCl2 is 47.24 %

How do I balance chemical equations ?

Maru [420]

Answer & explanation:

To balance a chemical equation, we must make sure that there are equal amounts of each element in the equation on either side.

To balance an equation step-by-step we first start by counting the amount of each element on each side. If they aren't equal, we must make them amounts equal on either side.

After you make sure all the elements are balanced, the net charge on both sides must also be equal.

A 83.2 g sample of metal at 90.31 oC is added to 41.82 g of water that is initially at 19.93 oC. The final temperature of both t
MissTica

Answer: 0.2885J/g°c

Explanation:

Loss of heat of metal = Gain of heat by the water

Therefore

-Qm = +Qw

Where

Q = mΔTCp

Q = heat

M= mass

ΔT = T.f - Ti

Ti= initial temperature

T.f= final temperature

Cp= Specific heat (m is metal, w is water)

-Qm = +Qw

-[m(T.f-Ti)Cpm] = m(T.f-Ti)Cpw

Therefore

-[83.2g(28.42-90.31)Cpm] = 41.82g(28.42-

19.93)4.194J/g°c

Cpm = 1485.54÷ 5149.25

Cpm = 0.2885J/g°c

Therefore , the specific heat of the metal is 0.2885J/g°c
