In a study of genetic variation of the Graceland gene, a researcher finds that there are two alleles in a population. In a large

sample (500 individuals), the frequency of heterozygotes is 0.63. Is the population in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium? 1. No. The highest frequency of heterozygotes under Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium is 0.5.2. No. The frequency of each genotype would be equal if the population were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.3. No. The frequency of heterozygotes would be 1 if the population was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. No. There would be no heterozygotes if the population were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.

Answer:

Option 1, No. The highest frequency of heterozygotes under Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium is 0.5

Explanation:

As per Hardy Weinberg’s equilibrium principle, the maximum frequency of heterozytotic individuals occur only when half of the population is dominant and recessive homozygous.

In other way when the sum of frequency of dominant and recessive species is equal to 0.5, only then the frequency of heterozygotes is maximum which in any case would not be higher than 0.5.

Hence, option 1 is correct

What can the student conclude about her hypothesis based on the results?
solong [7]

Answer: The results will tell us about the correctness of hypothesis.

Explanation:

The Hypothesis is that explanation which is used as a starting of any investigation. The Hypothesis can or cannot be correct. We can test the hypothesis with scientific research.

Now a student can make conclusions about the hypothesis based on the results obtained. If results are the same as the hypothesis it means that our proposed explanation i.e hypothesis was correct but if the result differs than it means the hypothesis was not correct.

Compare the three types of RNA. Note significant similarities and differences. Use the table below to record your observations.
Alchen [17]

Answer: (Structure) mRNA: always single stranded, rRNA: single stranded, twisted upon itself in some regions, tRNA: cloverleaf-like structure

(Function) mRNA: carries the information in the DNA to the ribosomes where it is translated into amino acids of proteins, rRNA: helps assemble tRNA, mRNA, and amino acids to form the polypeptide chain during protein synthesis, tRNA: acts as an adaptor molecule, which identifies correct amino acids corresponding to the anticodon present on it

Explanation: Plato, you're welcome

"Which statement is the best interpretation of the material presented in the chart?
Neporo4naja [7]
After reading the contents of the table shown in the attached picture, I am pretty sure that the statement which is the best interpretation of the material presented in the chart is being shown in the first option: Scientific explanations are built by combining evidence that can be observed with what people already know. I choose this option as I recognized sort of 'cause&effect' information. In the first one you can see some well-known facts and in the other picture you can see accurate information gathered by scientists due to those facts.

Hope that helps!
