Bohr Model of Hydrogen :

Only certain electron orbits are allowed and radius of the orbit increases square of n, where n is the principal quantum number. The first line of Balmer series is produced in the 3 to 2  transition. For hydrogen, z=1, this produces a photon of wavelength 656 nanometer.
