Social media and texting can make us lonely because in our generation we tend to communicate with advanced technology, such as social media and texting. It can make it harder for us to communicate in reality, since we are so attached to our phones. Social media and texting is basically an escape from reality. Therefore, that is why social media and texting, and technology in general, makes us lonely in the world.
