The range of this function is y = all real numbers such that y \geq -2.

The way that you can tell the range of this function is by noting that inside the absolute value symbol can never be negative by the definition of an absolute value. So, we know that the smallest number that could come of that is 0. If the absolute value portion was equal to 0, then g(x) would be -2 due to the fact that you are subtracting 2. Since this is the smallest and there is no largest, we know that y is equal to all real numbers greater than or equal to -2.

The volume of a cube is 8000 cubic feet, what is the area of one of its faces?
eimsori [14]

Since a cube is l x w x h, find the length of one side first:

∛8,000 = 20

The length of one side is 20 feet. This can represented as "s".

To find the area of one of the faces, use s²:

20²   or   20 x 20 = 400

The area of one face is 400 ft²!

A farmer sells 7.1 kilograms of apples and pears at the farmer's market. 4 5 of this weight is apples, and the rest is pears. Ho
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

2.6Kg

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the weight of apples be x and that of pears be y .

The farmer sold 7.1 kg of apples and pears .

4.5 of the 7.1kg is apples

That’s

x + y = 7.1kg

4.5kg + y = 7.1kg

Subtract 4.5kg from both sides

4.5kg - 4.5kg + y = 7.1kg - 4.5kg

y = 2.6 kg

The farmer sold 2.6kg of pears at the market

4x – 2y = 2<br> x = y + 4
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

y=-7; x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

You can substitute equation 2 into equation 1:

4(y+4)-2y=2

Then solve

4y+16-2y=2

2y+16=2

2y=-14

y=-7

x=-7+4

x=-3

True or false? If you took a true if then statement and inserted a knot in each closet, the new statement would also be true.
Firlakuza [10]
Answer: FALSE

Actually, the answer to this question depends on whether the clause is reversed or not.

Since we are not told whether the the clause is reversed or not. It is safe to assume that it was retained (i.e. not reversed). So the answer to this question is FALSE because if one takes a true "if-then" statement, inserted a 'not' in each clause, and retained the clauses, the new statement would NOT be true.

On the contrary, if the clause is reversed, the answer would be TRUE, because if one takes a true "if-then" statement, inserted a not in each clause, and reversed the clauses, the new statement would also be true.
