For the two lines to be parallel, the angles labeled 1 and 2 must be equal.
m 1 and m 2 have to be equal.

(5 - 3x) = (5x - 11)
Solve for x:

Determine the number of x-intercepts that appear on a graph of each function. f (x) = (x - 6)2(x + 2)2
Tpy6a [65]
<span>The number of x-intercepts that appear on the graph of  the function
</span>f(x)=(x-6)^2(x+2)^2 is two (2): x=6 (multiplicity 2) and x=-2 (multiplicity 2)

Solution
x-intercepts:
f(x)=0→(x-6)^2 (x+2)^2 =0

Using that: If a . b =0→a=0 or b=0; with a=(x-6)^2 and b=(x+2)^2

(x-6)^2=0
Solving for x. Square root both sides of the equation:
sqrt[ (x-6)^2] = sqrt(0)→x-6=0
Adding 6 both sides of the equation:
x-6+6=0+6→x=6 Multiplicity 2

(x+2)^2=0
Solving for x. Square root both sides of the equation:
sqrt[ (x+2)^2] = sqrt(0)→x+2=0
Subtracting 2 both sides of the equation:
x+2-2=0-2→x=-2 Multiplicity 2

Can anyone simplify 24q2/8q-3
Morgarella [4.7K]
24q^2 / 8q^-3

lets break this down...
24/8 = 3

q^2 / q^-3....when dividing exponents with the same base, keep the base and subtract the exponents. q^2 / q^-3 = q^(2 -(-3) = q^(2 + 3) = q^5

put them together and u get : 3q^5

What is the equation of a circle centered at the origin with radius 20.. i cant find the answer and i even tried?
KIM [24]
General equation of a circle with centre (h, k) is given by:

(x - h)^{2} + (y - k)^{2} = r^{2}

Now, the origin is the centre and radius is 20, so substituting these points in yields:
x^{2} + y^{2} = 20^{2}
x^{2} + y^{2} = 400
