Answer: It is surrounded by water on three sides. The royal navy was nothing to be messed with back then ( Still should not be taken lightly today)  This leaves the city to bombardment by cannons. If the citizens withdrew they would pretty much let the british in, if they stayed they risk being crushed or injured by cannon.

Georgia was initially founded as a haven for
Sonbull [250]

D. English debtors.

Georgia was established as refuge for debtors as well as a buffer between the plantation colonies and Spanish Florida. It was also established as a non-slave colony.

Overflowing prisons in England caused a concern. James Oglethorpe provided a solution by requesting a colony for debtors to work off their debt through servitude toward the colony. No slaves were allowed in the colony as the debtors were the labor.

Plurality is when a candidate has the most votes, but still has fewer than 50% of the total votes. This is possible if there are three or more candidates. Majority means the candidate has more than 50%. To become president, a candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes out of 538 (majority). Each state has a certain amount of electoral votes which are not the same as actual votes. A candidate can win the popular vote by having the most individuals vote for them, but lose the election because another candidate earned the majority of the electoral votes.

Harrison was the first Whig president.
