Simple, You take 36 minutes and put it over 90 minutes in a fraction form and set it equal to x over 100 (because ever percentage is out of 100) after doing this you cross multiply 36 and 100 which is 3600 afterwards you divide by 90 and get an answer of 40%

What is the equation of a parallel line to y = -5x + 2 that passes through the point (-1, 4)?
Luden [163]

Answer:

The equation of the Parallel line passes through the point (-1,4) is

y = -5 x -1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>:-

Given the equation of the line y = -5 x + 2

Given point (-1 , 4 )

The equation of the parallel line of a given line is 5x + y +k=0 ...(i)

The equation (i) passes through the point (-1,4)

                 5(-1)+4+k=0

                -5 +4 +k =0

                    -1 + k = 0

                         k = 1

How would you solve for x and y and what are x and y? Not sure what to do.
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

x = 26 2/3

y = 50

Step-by-step explanation:

you could set '2y-3x' equal to '-3x+y+50' because they are vertical angles

2y - 3x = -3x + y + 50

add 3x to each side to get:

2y = y + 50

y = 50

also, we know that (1/2y + 25) + (2y - 3x) = 180 because they form a straight line

3/2y + 25 - 3x = 180

subtract 25 from each side to get:

3/2y - 3x = 155

substitute 50 for 'y' to get:

3/2(50) - 3x = 155

75 - 3x = 155

-3x = 80

x = 26 2/3

Among the eighth-graders in Michael's school, 70% have siblings. The eighth-grade class is 5/6 the size of the seventh-grade cla
trapecia [35]

Answer:

D. 192

Step-by-step explanation:

This problem involves a few steps.  First, you need to determine how many eighth graders you have given that 112 represent 70% of the total number of eighth graders.  You can solve this using a proportion:

\frac{70}{100}=\frac{112}{x}

Cross-multiply and divide:  70x = 11200 or 70x/70 = 11200/70 or x = 160

Since there are 160 total eighth graders and this is \frac{5}{6} of the amount of seventh graders, we can set up an equation to solve for the total amount of seventh graders:

160 =  \frac{5}{6}x

Multiply by the reciprocal of your fraction on both sides:

\frac{6}{5} x 160 =  \frac{5}{6}x (\frac{6}{5})

Solve for x:  x = 192 seventh graders
