Answer:

The area of the house is approximately 309.54 feet²

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets describe the figure

- It has a quarter circle with radius = the width of the rectangle

- It has a rectangle with length = 26 - the length of the radius, and

 width 10 feet

- It has a triangle with base equal the length of the rectangle and

 height 8 feet

- It has a trapezoid, the length of its two parallel bases are 2 , 5 and

 height 2 feet

* Lets revise the area of all the shape above

- Area the quarter circle = 1/4 π r²

- Area of the rectangle = length × width

- Area of the triangle = 1/2 × base × height

- Area of the trapezoid = 1/2( the sum of the parallel bases) × height

* Now lets solve the problem

# Area of the quarter circle

∵ The radius of the circle = the width of the rectangle

∵ The width of the rectangle = 10 feet

∴ The radius of the circle = 10 feet

∵ The area of the quarter circle = 1/4 π r²

∴ Its area = 1/4 π (10)² = 25π feet²

# Area of the rectangle

∵ The length of the rectangle = 26 - the length of the radius

∵ the length of the radius = 10 feet

∴ The length of the rectangle = 26 - 10 = 16 feet

∵ The width of the rectangle = 10 feet

∵ The area of the rectangle = length × width

∴ Its area = 16 × 10 = 160 feet²

# Area of the triangle

∵ The base = the length of the rectangle

∵ The length of the rectangle = 16 feet

∴ The base = 16 feet

∵ The height = 8 feet

∵ The area of the triangle = 1/2 × base × height

∴ Its area = 1/2 × 16 × 8 = 64 feet²

# Area of the trapezoid

∵ The length of its two parallel bases are 2 feet , 5 feet

∵ The height = 2 feet

∵ The area = 1/2( the sum of the parallel bases) × height

∴ Its area = 1/2 (2 + 5) × 2 = 7 feet²

- Lets add all of these areas to find the area of the house

∴ The area of the house = 25π + 160 + 64 + 7 = 309.5398 feet²

* The area of the house is approximately 309.54 feet²

Pre-orders for the yearbook cost $38 each and full price cost $45 each. If 24 students in Mr. Hillman's class purchased yearbook
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

15 students preordered the year book and 9 students paid full price.

<u>Solution: </u>

Given that

Cost of pre-ordered year book = \$38 each

Cost of full price of year book = \$45 each

Number of students in Mr. Hillman's class purchased yearbooks = 24

Total price spent by 24 students to purchase year book = \$975

Need to determine number of students pre-ordered and number of students paid full price.

Let assume number of student pre-ordered year book = x

As out of 24, x students pre-ordered the yearbook , so remaining are the ones who paid full price

So number of students paid full price = 24-x

Money spent by students who pre-ordered the book = number of student pre-ordered year book multiplied by Cost of 1 pre-ordered year book = x\times38 = 38x

Money spent by students who paid full price = number of students paid full price x Cost of 1 full price year book = (24-x)\times 45 = 1080-45x

Total price spent by 24 students to purchase year book = Money spent by students who pre-ordered the book + Money spent by students who paid full price

\Rightarrow 975=38 x+1080-45 x

On solving above expression for x, we get

\begin{array}{l}{\Rightarrow 975-1080=38 x-45 x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow-105=-7 x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow \frac{-105}{-7}=x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow x=15}\end{array}

Number of student pre-ordered year book = x=15

Number of students paid full price = 24-x = 24-15 = 9

Hence 15 students pre-ordered the year book and 9 students paid full price.

What is the volatile acid/alkalinity relationship in a digester if the alkalinity is 2400 mg/L and the volatile acids are 90 mg/
damaskus [11]

The volatile acid/alkalinity relationship in a digester is volatile acid/alkalinity = 3/80

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more variables and numbers.

Ratio of volatile acid to alkalinity = 90 mg/L ÷ 2400 mg/L = 3/80

The volatile acid/alkalinity relationship in a digester is volatile acid/alkalinity = 3/80
