Answer:

y=x^2+1

Step-by-step explanation:

When simplifying y=(x+1)^2 we have to take notice of the square and what it means.

When squaring a number it means multiplying the same number twice for example 2^2 is 2*2 which is 4.

This is the same for (x+1)^2 we multiply (x+1) twice.

So (x+1)* (x+1) is x^2 +1. The 1 stays the same because 1*1 is just one where are x*x is x^2.

So the answer is y=x^2+1

If f(x)= x-3/x and g(x)= 5x-3, what is the domain of (f•g)(x)
ad-work [718]

f(x)=\dfrac{x-3}{x},\ D_f:x\neq0\\\\g(x)=5x-3,\ D_g=\mathbb{R}\\\\(f\cdot g)(x)=f(x)\cdot g(x)\\\\(f\cdot g)(x)=\dfrac{x-3}{x}\cdot(5x-3)=\dfrac{(x-3)(5x-3)}{x}\\\\D_{(f\cdot g)}=D_f

Answer: The domain of (f•g)(x) is all real numbers except for 0

D=\mathbb{R}-\{0\}

The square abcd has side length 10cm. E is the midpoint of BC. Work out the length of DE. Answer to 1 decimal place.
Levart [38]

-- DEC is a right triangle.

-- DC is one side of the square  =  10 cm
-- EC is half the side of the square = 5 cm
-- DE is the hypotenuse = square root of (5² + 10²)  =  √(125 cm²) .

<em>-- Truncated</em> to one decimal place, that's  11.1 cm.

<em>-- Rounded</em> to one decimal place, it's 11.2 cm.
