A body accelerates due to net force acting on it. As newton's second law of motion states:

when a net force acts on a body, it produces acceleration in the body in the direction of the net force

Deffense [45]
The answer is D using the work formula
W= F•d but if it was against gravity, it would be 0 if gravity is exerting the same amount, I would pick D using the formula, but I'm not so sure sorry

Squids and octopuses propel themselves by expelling water. They do this by keeping water in a cavity and then suddenly contracti
Goshia [24]

Answer:

6.78571 m/s

55.13387 Joules

Explanation:

v_s = Velocity of squid = 2.5 m/s

v_w = Velocity of water

m_w = Mass of water = 1.75 kg

Mass of squid

m_s=6.5-1.75=4.75\ kg

Momentum of squid

p_s=m_sv_s\\\Rightarrow p_s=4.75\times 2.5\\\Rightarrow p_s=11.875\ kgm/s

As the momentum of the system is conserved

p_s+p_w=0\\\Rightarrow p_s=-p_w\\\Rightarrow 11.875=-p_w\\\Rightarrow 11.875=-m_wv_w\\\Rightarrow v_w=-\frac{11.875}{1.75}\\\Rightarrow v_w=6.78571\ m/s

The speed of the water is 6.78571 m/s

Kinetic energy the squid creates is given by

Kinetic energy of the squid + Kinetic energy of water

K=K_s+K_w\\\Rightarrow K=\frac{1}{2}(m_sv_s^2+m_wv_w^2)\\\Rightarrow K=\frac{1}{2}(4.75\times 2.5^2+1.75\times 6.78571^2)\\\Rightarrow K=55.13387\ J

Kinetic energy the squid creates by this maneuver is 55.13387 Joules

What best describes desert pavements
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer:

Explanation:

A common theory suggests that desert pavements are formed through gradual removal of sand and other fine particles by the wind and intermittent rains leaving behind the large fragments. The larger rock particles are shaken into place by actions of different agents such as rain, wind, gravity, and animals

A battery charger is connected to a dead battery and delivers a current of 3.5 a for 4 hours, keeping the voltage across the bat
oksano4ka [1.4K]
The power delivered is equal to the product between the voltage V and the current I:
P=VI=(16 V)(3.5 A)=56 W

This power is delivered for a total time of t=4h=4 \cdot 3600 s = 14400 s, so the total energy delivered to the battery is
E=Pt = (56 W)(14400 s)=806400 J=806.4 kJ
