Answer:

-2

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the rate of change of a function, we are looking for it's slope.

We can find the slope of a line by seeing it's rise over run.

Basically - how much the line's y increases divided by how much the line's x increases.

We can see that the y drops from 1 to -1 in 1 x value. This means the change in y is 1 - (-1) = 2, however in this case it is -2 as we are dropping.

The change in x is 1 .

This means that the slope (rate of change) is \frac{-2}{1} = -2.

Hope this helped!

Find the coordinates of the centroid of triangle RST. SHOW YOUR WORK so I can see if the answer makes sense (no links)
zimovet [89]

Note the coordinates of each point: R(-4, 5), S(5, 1), T(2, -3).

The centroid is the point whose coordinates are the average of the coordinates of R, S, and T.

x-coordinate: (-4 + 5 + 2)/3 = 3/3 = 1

y-coordinate: (5 + 1 - 3)/3 = 3/3 = 1

So the centroid is (1, 1).
