Which inequality statement best represents the graph?

Mathematics

The correct answer is:  [C]:  "  f(x)  ≤  x²  − x − 1 " .<span>
__________________________________________________________
Explanation:
__________________________________________________________
Note that the graph has a solid line.  This means that the correct equation for the graph contain either:   1)  </span>≤  or:  2)  ≥ .

We note that all of the answer choices provided have either:  ≤  or:  <span>≥  .
</span>_________________________________________________________
Let us start with a point on the graph that is "not shaded" (i.e. that is NOT a solution:  " (0, 2) " ; that is:  when "x = 0" , y = 2" .
_________________________________________________________
Try this for all the answer choices:

Choice:  [A]:  " y  ≥  x² − x  −  1 " ;

→  " 2  ≥  0² − 0  −  1  " ? ;

→  " 2  ≥  0 − 1 " ? ;

→   "2  ≥ -1 " ?  Yes!

So we can rule out "Choice: [A]" .
__________________________________________________________
Try Choice: [B]:

→  " y ≤ −x² − x −1 " ;

→  " 2 ≤ −(0²) − 0 − 1 " ?

→  " 2 ≤  0 − 0 − 1 " ?

→  " 2 ≤  -1 " ?  No!  So this is a possible solution.
__________________________________________________________
Now, let's try Choice:  [C]"

→  " y ≤  x²  − x − 1 " ;

→  " 2 ≤  0² − 0 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 2 ≤  0 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 2 ≤  -1 " ? ;   No!  So this is possible answer.
_____________________________________________________
Now, let's try the last answer choice:  [D]:

→  " y ≥  −x²  − x − 1 " ;

→  " 2 ≥  −0² − 0 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 2 ≥  0 − 0 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 2 ≥  - 1 " ? ;  No!  So this is a possible answer!
__________________________________________________________
Now, we have narrow our choices to B, C, and D.

Now , among these choices, which of these fits a point with the shaded region?

Let us pick a point:  "(2, 0) "  that, is, when "x = 2, y = 0 " .
__________________________________________________________
Let us start with:  "Choice:  [B] " :

→  " y ≤ −x² − x −1 " ;

→  " 0  ≤ −(2²) − 2 − 1 " ?

→  " 0 ≤  -4 − 2 − 1 " ?

→  " 0 ≤  -7 " ?  No!  So we can rule out "Choice B" .
__________________________________________________________
Now, let us try "Choice:  [C]" :
__________________________________________________________

→  " y ≤  x²  − x − 1 " ;

→  " 0 ≤  2² − 2 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 0 ≤   4 − 2  − 1 " ? ;

→  " 0  ≤  1 " ? ;   Yes!  So; this should be the correct answer:

Answer choice:  [C]:  " f(x)  ≤  x²  − x − 1 " ;
___________________________________________________________
Let us try " Choice:  [D]"— to confirm that "Choice: [D]" is incorrect:

→  " 0  ≥  −(2²)  − 2 − 1 " ;

→  " 0   ≥  −(2²) −  2 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 0   ≥   − 4  −  2 − 1 " ? ;

→  " 0   ≥   − 7 " ? ;  No!  So we can rule out: "Choice:  D<span>" .
</span>__________________________________________________________
The correct answer is:  [C]:  "  f(x)  ≤  x²  − x − 1 " .

Help i dont know the formula for the triangle to find the answer its surface area n volume
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

#4=10.5

#5=48

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the triangle for area is 1/2 time base times hight

The forumale fot the triangle for volume is 1/2 time base times hight

So for number #4 it will be 1/2 x 3 x 7

and number #5, it will be 1/2 x 8 x 12

<u>Question 11</u>

1) \overline{BA} \cong \overline{FA}, \angle 1 \cong \angle 2 (given)

2) \angle A \cong \angle A (reflexive property)

3) \triangle AEB \cong \triangle ACF (ASA)

4) \overline{AC} \cong \overline{AE} (CPCTC)

<u>Question 12</u>

1) Isosceles \triangle ACD with \overline{AC} \cong \overline{AD}, \overline{BC} \cong \overline{ED} (given)

2) \angle ACD \cong \angle ADC (angles opposite congruent sides in a triangle are congruent)

3) \angle ACB and \angle ACD are supplementary. \angle ADC and \angle ADE are supplementary (angles that form a linear pair are supplementary)

4) \angle ACB \cong \angle ADE (supplements of congruent angles are congruent)

5) \triangle ABC \cong \triangle AED (SAS)

6) \overline{AB} \cong \overline{AE} (CPCTC)

7) \triangle ABE is an isosceles triangle (a triangle with two congruent sides is isosceles)

The effectiveness of a blood-pressure drug is being investigated. An experimenter finds that, on
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

so it looks like you want to find a 98% confidence interval and using a T value. So we have our X bar plus or minus a T. Star value times the standard deviation divided by the square root of van. And you had a sample of size 17 which yielded a mean of 32 that it lowered it by 32 the standard deviation was 15. And so we need to find the T. Star value. Now, subtle hint if you don't have a table on you, which I don't and I could always look it up online, but if I want the 98% confidence interval, that means I want the area down at this table to be 980.1 and I want my degrees of freedom to be 16. So I'm actually going to use my inverse, go to second and distribution and use my inverse T button on my T. I 84 and I put the area as 0.1 and my degrees of freedom as 16. And and then just enter in and I find out what that T. Star value is. This value is negative 2.583 and this value is 2.583 So now I have my T. Star value. You can also look it up in your in a table so we know that we'll have 32 plus or minus that T star value 2.583 times the standard deviation which is 15 over the square root of an Okay. And so I'm going to type in that 30 to minus 2.583 times the 15 divided by the square root of 17. And try to type it in right? And that gives me, my lower limit is 22.603 And my upper limit now I can go back and just change that subtraction sign to addition sign. And that gives me up to 41.397 So there's the confidence interval, the 98% confidence interval. And yes, you would. Uh that confidence interval, the mean would be unknown. Mhm. The standard deviation of the population is unknown because of the small sample size. We would like to have an approximate normal distribution, which means we would like to see a graph of those 17 numbers to make sure that they're approximately normal. And definitely we would like to have that be a simple random sample and it's not going to be most likely a simple random sample, but hopefully it's at least representative of what a simple random sample would be. Mhm.

Solve: 2x + 3x? - 11x-6=0
erica [24]

Answer:

  1. To solve the following equation we must first combine like terms
  2. Recognize the easiest way to manipulate the equation
  3. Lastly rearrange to isolate for x: usually done with division

2x+3x-11x-6=0

Combine like x variables

-6x-6=0

Add 6 to the right side

-6x = 6

Divide by -6

x=-1
