N is the set of integers that are greater than - 3 and less than 2.
Schach [20]
The given set is {-1,0,1,2,3,4,5}
(notice the -2 and 6 are excluded)

the subset which contain positive factors of 5 is {1,5}

so the complement set would be
{-1,0,2,3,4) which matches with b)

If f(x) = x^2 - 2x and g(x) = 6x + 4, for what value of x does (f + g)(x) = 0?
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

x = -2

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) =x^2 -2x\:\: and \:\: g(x) = 6x + 4\\(f+g)(x) = f(x) + g(x) \\(f+g)(x) = x^2 -2x+ 6x + 4\\(f+g)(x) = x^2+4x + 4\\(f+g)(x) = (x+2)^2\\ 0 = (x+2)^2...[\because (f+g)(x) =0]\\0 = x+2\\\therefore x = -2

A scientist who studies sleep has developed a new technique to help people sleep each night. He
Andru [333]

Considering the situation described, the scientist's null and alternative hypothesis are described by:

Null hypothesis H_0: \mu = 0; Alternative hypothesis H_1: \mu \neq 0.

<h3>What are the hypothesis tested?</h3>

At the null hypothesis, it is tested if there is no difference, that is, the difference of the means represented by \mu is of 0, hence:

H_0: \mu = 0

At the alternative hypothesis, it is tested if there is a difference, hence:

H_1: \mu \neq 0

Help please!!! I will give a gold medal.
morpeh [17]
Well assuming that this would be a typical triangle, and not a right angle one, knowing that the sum of all sides adds up to 180 degrees, simply add all of the expressions and one value and make it equal to 180, and then solve for x.

(6x-1) + (X+14) + 20 = 180
6x - 1 + X + 14 = 160
7x - 1 + 14 = 160
7x + 13 = 160
7x = 147
X = 21.

Now solve for the angles by plugging in X.

A = 6x - 1 = 6(21) - 1 = 125 degrees
C = X + 14 = (21) + 14 = 35 degrees.

I believe these are the solutions.
