Let's factor the following polynomial to find the roots:
 x2-13x + q = 0
 Factoring we have:
 (x-12.5) * (x + a)
 Where,
 -12.5 + a = -13
 a = -13 + 12.5
 a = -0.5
 We now look for the coefficient q:
 q = -12.5 * a
 q = -12.5 * (- 0.5)
 q = 6.25
 The polynomial will then be:
 x2-13x + 6.25 = 0
 Its roots are:
 x1 = 12.5
 x2 = 0.5
 Answer:
 The other root and the value of the coefficient are:
 0.5 and 6.25 (Respectively)

A number less than 85 the number has 26 and 6 as factors
mash [69]
First write out the multiples of 6 and 26. Then find the common multiple they share that is immediately less than 85. (I do 26 first since it will have less multiple and it will give me an idea what to look for within the multiples for 6)

26: 26, 52, 78 (anything more will be over 85 and we need a number less than 85)
6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 56, 72, 78 (I stopped at 78 since any number after this will be larger than 85)

I now look to find the multiple that both 26 & 6 shares that is also less than 85 and it land me on the number 78!

The Answer: 78

Hope this helps!

f(x)=3x^2+1\\
g(x)=2x+2\\\\
y=2x+2\\
2x=y-2\\
x=\dfrac{1}{2}y-1\\
g^{-1}(x)=\dfrac{1}{2}x-1\\\\
(f\cdot g)(x)=f(x)\cdot g(x)\\\\
(f\cdot g^{-1})(2)=(3\cdot2^2+1)(2\cdot2+2)\\
(f\cdot g^{-1})(2)=(12+1)\cdot6\\
(f\cdot g^{-1})(2)=13\cdot6\\
(f\cdot g^{-1})(2)=78

ANSWER THIS MATH QUESTION
shusha [124]

Answer:

<h2>The slope of the line tangent to the function at x = 1 is 2.01 ≅2.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the formula of derivative, it can be easily shown that, \frac{d f(x)}{dx} = 2 where f(x) = x^{2}.

Here we need to show that as per the instructions in the given table.

Δy = f(x + Δx) - f(x) = f(1 + 0.01) - f(1) = (1 + 0.01)^{2} - 1^{2} = 0.0201.

In the above equation, we have put x = 1 because we need to find the slope of the line tangent at x = 1.

Hence, dividing Δy by Δx, we get, \frac{0.0201}{0.01} = 2.01.

Let's examine this taking a smaller value.

If we take Δx = 0.001, then Δy = 1.001^{2} - 1^{2} =  0.002001.

Thus, \frac{0.002001}{0.001} = 2.001.

The more smaller value of Δx is taken, the slope of the tangent will be approach towards the value of 2.
