Stem cells can be developed into a required tissue because of their ability to differentiate into any tissue. Stem cells generally have three basic properties:
1. They have the ability to divide and renew themselves for a long period of time.
2. Stem cells are unspecialized cells.
3. Stem cells can give rise to specialized cell types.
The process by which unspecialized stem cells become specialized is called differentiation. Differentiation involves many stages and at each stage the cells becomes more specialized.

You have identified a mutation in a gene that seems to decrease transcription of another gene 2000 bp away from the mutation sit
Reil [10]

Answer:

Enhancer sequence.

Explanation:

Enhancers may be defined as the transcription factors that are used to enhance or increase the activity of the gene. Enhancers bind with the transcription factors to regulate and increase its expression.

The mutation in the enhancers decrease the transcription of  of the other gene. These sequences lies far away from the transcription site but still known to increase the rate of transcription. Hence, the mutation has been done in the enhancer sequences.

Thus, the correct answer is option (b).

Summing up all the individuals from the different divisions we have:
Division I - 22
Division II - 27
