Trait appraisal:  

Trait appraisal based on the physical features and qualities of the individual. The physical features include the style of the individual, the attitude, leadership qualities, and the way of language. This is not the correct way of appraisal as it discriminates among the employees. It can be the basis of promotion.  

Different types of appraisal:

  • Trait appraisal: This type of appraisal based on the physical characteristics and qualities of the individual.  
  • Behavioral appraisal: This type of appraisal based on the behavior of the individual with the boss and all other colleagues of the company.
  • Objective appraisal: This type of appraisal based on the objective of the individual. In the company, the employer gives an objective to the employee. The employee is responsible to complete that objective. The employer evaluates on the basis of the objective.
  • 360- Degree appraisal: This type of appraisal has been done by the employers, subordinates, peers and all other employees in the company. All will give feedback to the particular individual, this will consider the promotion of the employee.
