What I would do is find a similar denominator for 3/5 and 2/3 (15).
Next, I would multiply 5x3 =15 and 3x5= 15. If you do something to the bottom then, you need to do it to the top.
3x3= 9
2x5= 10
Finally you subtract each other but, if the second number is higher than the first and the first has a whole, you add the whole.
2 24/15- 10/15= 2 14/15
So, Austin is 2 and 14/15 miles away from his house.

The value of the variable x will be 37°. Then the measure of the angle ∠QNP will be 105°.

What is an angle?

The angle is the distance between the intersecting lines or surfaces. The angle is also expressed in degrees. The angle is 360 degrees for one complete spin.

Supplementary angle - Two angles are said to be supplementary angles if their sum is 180 degrees.

The measure of angles ∠MNQ = (2x + 1)° and ∠QNP = (3x - 6)°.

Then the value of x will be

We know that the angles ∠MNQ and ∠QNP are supplementary angles. Then the value of the variable x will be

∠MNQ + ∠QNP = 180°

(2x + 1)° + (3x - 6)° = 180°

5x - 5° = 180°

5x = 185°

x = 37°

Then the measure of the angle ∠QNP will be

∠QNP = [3(37) - 6]°

∠QNP = 111° - 6°

∠QNP = 105°

The value of the variable x will be 37°. Then the measure of the angle ∠QNP will be 105°.

VashaNatasha [74]
As the ratio of your shadow to your height is 2:1 assuming the flagpole would form a similar triangle the shadow is twice the height of the pole meaning the pole is 14 feet tall
