To fond the area of a trapezoid, add the top and bottom together, divide that by 2, than multiply by the height.

Area = (8+12)/2 = 20/2 = 10

10 x 9 = 90 square centimeters.

A number cube with faces labeled from 1 to 6 will be rolled once.
kramer

Answer:

\Omega=\{1,2,3,4,5,6\}

A=\{1,2,3,4\}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Sample Space</u>

The sample space of a random experience is a set of all the possible outcomes of that experience. It's usually denoted by the letter \Omega.

We have a number cube with all faces labeled from 1 to 6. That cube is to be rolled once. The visible number shown in the cube is recorded as the outcome. The possible outcomes are listed as the sample space below:

\Omega=\{1,2,3,4,5,6\}

Now we are required to give the outcomes for the event of rolling a number less than 5. Let's call A to such event. The set of possible outcomes for A has all the numbers from 1 to 4 as follows

A=\{1,2,3,4\}

Two similar regular hexagons have a common center. If each side of the big hexagon is twice the side of the small one and the ar
Anna71 [15]
To determine any area of a shape we need to know the formula for the area of that particular shape which is for a regular hexagon is

Area of hexagon = (3 √3) a^2 / 2
 where a is the length of the side of the hexagon
So, first, we determine the length of the side of the smaller hexagon from the given area.

3 in^2 = (3 √3) a^2 / 2
6 in^2 = (3 √3) a^2
a^2 = 2 √3 / 3
a = 1.0746 in

The length of the side of the bigger hexagon is twice that of the smaller so,
A = 2a = 2 (1.0746 in ) = 2.1491 in

Area of the bigger hexagon =  (3 √3) a^2 / 2
                                            = (3 √3) 2.1491^2 / 2                                            = 12 in^2
