The Fugitive Slave Act was enacted by the US Congress in 1850 and become one of the most controversial components of the Compromise of 1850. The Compromise was a set of bills enacted as a form of agreement between slave and free states, after many years of political confrontations between the two blocs.

The Fugitive Slave Act was issued to ensure the return of slaves that had scaped to free states, to their owners, and the cooperation of officials from Northern free states in these procedures. Also, tougher penalties were established for those who tried to circumvent the regulations contained in the act.

People call politicians names all the time and politicians and their supporters just take it in stride. Why did equating Preside
Leni [432]

Answer:

It enraged the crowd and the president because the country was at war with Germany and equating him to the Kaiser was an insult due to the atrocious actions that had been committed by him.

Explanation:

During the women's suffrage movement, suffragists considered that US president Woodrow Wilson was deceitful and a fraud. The reason is that he was fighting for democracy abroad while he and his supporters were forbidding the right to vote to women, who were American citizens. Thus, he was acting in opposition to the ideal democracy in his own country.
