notsponge [240]
A subordinate clause is a clause that contains both a subject and a verb, but cannot stand on its own because it does not convey a complete message. It needs the main sentence in order to clearly understand its thought. The subordinate in the given sentence is: the children enjoyed. This is an adjective clause, which modifies the noun "book". guapka [62]

Answer:

In this passage, Willis is expressing that literature is a message from the past telling us about the lives of those before us. We are told that these messages are trying to tell us how we live and how we die based on others experiences. Willis tries to explain this through a concerned, yet passionate tone that urges us, the readers, to learn from the mistakes and the fortunes of the lives of people before us. We can only do this through literature, as it is the gateway to seeing how the world works.

Brrunno [24]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

This answer pulls text evidence from the article and connects the explanation by referencing what the author wrote. Liam's cat "Frosty the Snowman" is from a friendly character in cinema, but the kitten's actions are opposite which is why the author states why it should be named stormy for it's "fiesty" actions of destruction in the house.
