3/2x is ambiguous, because traditional algebra says 3/2x = 3/(2x) but ever since FORTRAN came out in c.1958, programming languages say 3/2x = (3/2)x. WELL IN 1958 COMPUTERS DIDN'T HAVE LOWER CASE, AND XY WAS XY, NOT X*Y, SO IT WAS 3/2*X=(3/2)*X AND NOT 3/(2*X). ALSO FORTRAN IGNORED ALL BLANK SPACES SO X Y WAS ALSO XY NOT X*Y.
