Calculate the vapor pressure of a solution made by dissolving 109 grams of glucose (molar mass = 180.2 g/mol in 920.0 ml of wate
Fynjy0 [20]
Given data: <span>molar mass = 180.2 g/mol in 920.0 ml of water at 25 °c.
</span><span>the vapor pressure of pure water at 25 °c is 23.76 mm hg.
</span>Asked: <span>the vapor pressure of a solution made by dissolving 109 grams of glucose
</span><span>
Solution:
moles glucose = 109 g/ 180.2 g/mol=0.605
mass water = 920 mL x 1 g/mL = 920 g
moles water = 920 g/ 18.02 g/mol=51.1
mole fraction water = 51.1 / 51.1 + 0.605 =0.988
vapor pressure solution = 0.988 x 23.76 = 23.47 mm Hg</span>

What is the edge length of a face-centered cubic unit cell that is made of of atoms, each with a radius of 154 pm
gladu [14]

Answer:

The edge length of a face-centered cubic unit cell is 435.6 pm.

Explanation:

In a face-centered cubic unit cell, each of the eight corners is occupied by one atom and each of the six faces is occupied by a single atom.

Hence, the number of atoms in an FCC unit cell is:

8*\frac{1}{8} + 6*\frac{1}{2} = 4 atoms

In a face-centered cubic unit cell, to find the edge length we need to use Pythagorean Theorem:

a^{2} + a^{2} = (4R)^{2}     (1)

Where:

a: is the edge length

R: is the radius of each atom = 154 pm

By solving equation (1) for "a" we have:

a = 2R\sqrt{2} = 2*154 pm*\sqrt{2} = 435.6 pm

Therefore, the edge length of a face-centered cubic unit cell is 435.6 pm.

I hope it helps you!

3H2(g) + N2(g)= 2NH3(g)<br> How many moles of NH3 can be produced from 24.0 mol of H2 and excess N2
vekshin1
The ratio of H2 moles to NH3 moles is 3:2 which you can see from the numbers in the equation. This means if you can have 24 moles of H2 you can use this ratio and you can produce 16 moles of NH3
