Two forces with magnitudes of 150 and 75 pounds act on an object at angles of 30° and 150°, respectively. Find the direction and
Anastaziya [24]
The problem is modelled in the first picture shown below

To work out the resultant vector, we modelled the vectors 150N and 75N as triangle AOB is shown in the second picture with AB as the resultant vector.

We use the cosine rule to work out the length AB
AB^{2}= 75^{2}+ 150^{2}-(2*75*150*cos(60))
AB^{2} =28125-11250
AB^{2}=16875
AB= \sqrt{16875} =130(nearest whole number)

The third picture shows the full diagram of the vectors

To work out the direction of the resultant vector, we use the sin rule to find the size of angle A and angle B

Angle A
\frac{130}{sin(60)}= \frac{75}{sin(A)}
130sin(A)=75sin(60)
sin(A)= \frac{75sin(60)}{130}
sin(A)=0.4996300406
A= sin^{-1}(0.4996300406)
A=30 (rounded to nearest whole number)

Angle B
B=180-60-30=90

Direction is 60° toward negative x-axis

Answer: Magnitude 130N and direction 60° toward negative x-axis

Plz help ASAP!!!!! WILL MARK YOU BRAINLIEST IF CORRECT QUESTION #4
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

The answer is A or the first one

Step-by-step explanation:

This is because the domain is signifying the x amounts. So, this line keeps going on and on, which is all real numbers. On the other hand, the range are the y’s. The y’s are staying on the -100 line or above.

Find x to the nearest tenth.
Liono4ka [1.6K]
The correct answer is 18.7.

So I kind of went an indirect way but I can explain it all. I ignored the 15°. The box in the right correct means that angle is 90°. Since a triangle is always 180°, I subtracted 90 and 15 from 180. That gives you 75°. Now that you know that you can use tangent from SOH CAH TOA. So... tan75= x/5 which turns into 5tan75°. Plug that into a calculator and you get 18.66 which rounds to 18.7.

If you need anymore help I'm here. Hope I helped :) Good luck!

What is the answer plz help.
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

0.2

Step-by-step explanation:

C.O.P-the constant value of the ratio of two proportional quantities x and y, typically the equation is Y=KX.

So to find that you would divide y by x.

In this case the dot is between 0 and 2 on y so it is 1 and between 4 and 6 on x so it is 5.

Then you would divide 1/5 and get 0.2 or you could look at the end of the graph and notice that the last point is at (10,2) and divide 2/10 and get the same thing.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
