Steven investigates the amount of damage to the head gaskets on the trucks in his fleet and finds that the damage index depends

on the ambient temperature. He develops the equation y = -2/3x + 14 to model the relationship. If the temperature increases 1 degree, what happens to the damage index for the head gasket?
A) It decreases by 14 points.

Answer:

d

Step-by-step explanation:

Since temperature is the independent variable then each increase by one point results in a

2

3

increase in the damage index. Therefore, It decreases by

2

3

of a point.

What is csc (2π/3)? Explain.
masha68 [24]

we are given the expression csc (2 pi / 3 ) and is asked to evaluate the expression. According to the trigonometric identities, the inverse of cosecant (CSC) is sine (sin) function. hence using the calculator in radians mode, sin 2pi/3 is equal to 2/sqrt 3. Taking the reciprocal of the answer, the final answer is 2 sqrt3 over 3.

WEEKLY Earning Full time = 40 h x $15 = $600/week
Over time = 3 h 25 min or 3h + 25/60 h
WEEKLY Earning Over time = (3 h)x $30 + (25/60) x $30 = $115

TOTAL WEEKLY INCLUDING OVERTIME: = $715
TOTAL SEMI MONTHLY INCLUDING OVERTIME =$715 X2 = $1,430
BIWEEKLY = SEMI MONTHLY = $1,430
TOTAL MONTHLY INCLUDING OVERTIME =$715 x 4 = $2,860

I'm not really looking for an exact answer, I'm more so looking for an explanation on how to do this.
marshall27 [118]

I would have each block be 1/6 of a yard

You could technically have any value you want, but for me 1/6 is easiest because 1/2 and 1/3 will scale up to this like so

1/2 = (1/2)*(3/3) = 3/6

1/3 = (1/3)*(2/2) = 2/6

The diagram below might help if you're still stuck on why I picked 1/6.
