Unit form is when you write the number instead of spelling it out. Like 1 instead of saying one. Standard form is when you write number that are large in an easier way. So 4000 is 4x10^3.

What is the area of the sector having a radius of 8 and a central angle of 5pi/3 radians?
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

 160π/3 units² ≈ 167.55 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

The appropriate area formula is ...

 A = (1/2)r²θ

Filling in the numbers, you have ...

 A = (1/2)(8²)(5π/3) = 160π/3 ≈ 167.55 . . . . square units

Solve for x.
Aliun [14]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 x = 3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle bisector divides the segments proportionally. This means they satisfy ...

 bottom segment / side segment = x/6 = (6-x)/4

Multiplying by 12 gives ...

 2x = 3(6 -x)

 2x = 18 -3x . . . . . eliminate parentheses

 5x = 18 . . . . . . . . add 3x

 x = 3.6 . . . . . . . . . divide by 5

_____

Alternate solution

I like to try to work these mentally. The total of side lengths is 10, so the total base length (6) is 6/10 = 0.6 times that. Then x will be 0.6 times the left side length: 0.6·6 = 3.6 = x.

What is the standard equation for a circle with the center (2,1) and passing through (0, 1)
Volgvan
The radius is the distance from the center to any point. The distance from (2,1) to (0,1) is of course 2. The general formula for a circle with radius r and center (a,b) is

(x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 = r^2

In our case we get

(x-2)^2 + (y-1)^2 = 4

Determine if the triangles, CEG and DEF ,are similar. If so, identify the similarity
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

AA similarity means 2 angles must be similar.

Angle 1: Angle E is the same for both triangles

Angle 2: Angle F and angle G are congruent because they both have right angle markings so they are both 90 degrees.
