Answer: Silas Lynch

Explanation:

The birth of a Nation follows the lives of two families, Cameron family and Stoneman family.

Camerons were aristocrats from the south while the stonemans were carpet baggers from the north.  After the assassination of the President Abraham Lincoln radical Politicians invaded and took control of Washington and were sanctioning harsh punishments to the south for the civil war.

US senator and the Leader of Stonemans Austin Stoneman sent Silas Lynch to the South. Silas Lynch was a protégé of Austin Stoneman who was Biracial and was sent to the South to help and Oversee the Reconstruction of the South. Apart from overseeing the reconstruction of the South Silas Lynch helped the Slaves who were newly freed to exercise their voting rights and build the lives all over again. Ben Cameron was not content with how things were in South under the new leadership particularly with regards to showing respect to black people. The problem starts when a black soldier named Gus followed the younger sister of Ben Cameron Flora who used to get spring water from the woods. When Gus followed Flora (because he wanted to marry her), Flora panicked and ran until she reach a very high cliff where he jumped off and died.

Upon hearing the news of his sister's death, Ben Cameron the brother of Flora formed an organization named the Ku Klux Klan devoted to white supremacy and oppression. The very first task of this newly formed organization was to avenge the death of Flora by killing the Black soldier Gus and drop his body on Silas Lynch’s door step. The war erupted between Silas Lynch and the Ku Klux Klan led by Ben Cameron

Answer: Lincoln

Explanation: Lincoln believed that the South had never legally seceded from the Union, his plan for Reconstruction was based on forgiveness. He thus issued the Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction in 1863 to announce his intention to reunite the Once-United States. Reconstruction encompassed three major initiatives: restoration of the Union, transformation of southern society, and enactment of progressive legislation favoring the rights of freed slaves.

many delegates of the convention wanted to create a new constitution. What was the three-fifths compromise?
beks73 [17]

The Three-Fifths Compromise was a compromise reached among state delegates during the 1787 United States Constitutional Convention. Whether, and if so, how, slaves would be counted when determining a state's total population for legislative representation and taxing purposes was important, as this population number would then be used to determine the number of seats that the state would have in the United States House of Representatives for the next ten years. The compromise solution was to count three out of every five slaves as a person for this purpose. Its effect was to give the southern states a third more seats in Congress and a third more electoral votes than if slaves had been ignored, but fewer than if slaves and free people had been counted equally, thus allowing the slaveholder interests to largely dominate the government of the United States until 1861. The compromise was proposed by delegates James Wilson and Roger Sherman.

Which type of roadway did North Carolina construct nearly five hundred miles of between the 1830s and 1860s?
g100num [7]

The correct answer is; Plank.

Further Explanation:

North Carolina started building plank roads in the late 1840's. These roads were easier to maintain and easier to drive on. Before the plank roads were built, the roads had long muddy roads and large holes and ruts that drivers had to navigate through.

The crews could only lay an estimated 40 miles of plank roads per year and this did cause issues. North Carolina had the largest plank road with a total of 500 miles built. The rods failed after a few years because it took so long to build.

Citizens were then using the railroad system since it was faster than traveling by horse and buggy. The people also did not like having to stop at the toll booth that had been set up on the road. The money collected at the toll booth was used to pay for maintenance of the plank road.
